Limb Injuries

    TREATMENT OF SPRAIN OR STRAIN

    Protect: the injured limb by removing from play

    Rest: Relative rest from the activity

    Ice: ideally crushed ice (or frozen peas!) for 10-15 minutes every 2 hours for the first 48 hours post injury

    Compression: compress from toes or fingers upwards to aid swelling

    Elevation: elevate the injured limb, ideally above heart level
