Shock

  • Shock is a life threatening conditioning and comes second in first aid only to airway management and CPR
  • Inadequate circulation of blood (and oxygen) to the body’s vital organs especially the brain results in shock
  • The most common cause of shock is blood loss
  • Any blood loss greater than 2 litres will result in shock
