'Level 3 UKSCA S&C Trainers course'
Hampden Sports Clinic in conjunction with Primo Performance Coaching is delighted to announce it will be running the Level 3 UKSCA S & C Trainers course this Spring. Led by experienced S & C coach Kevin Watson this will be taught in a hybrid style with 2 x in-person practical sessions (Sun 26th April & Sun 10th May) at Barclays Hampden.
Course Description:
Prepares learners to plan, deliver and evaluate safe, ethical and effective strength and conditioning coaching sessions as an assistant strength and conditioning coach.
Course Content:
The learner will complete the following mandatory units:
- Foundation movement planning and group coaching
- Safety in the gym coaching (strength-based and energy systems training)
- Strength-based training planning and coaching
- Initial consultation, needs analysis, physical assessment and programme design
- Programme delivery, impact and reflections
Who is this course for?
The qualification is designed for individuals preparing to work in a strength and conditioning environment who wish to independently coach strength and conditioning to young people and adults, usually within the fitness and club environment.
The qualification may also be useful for personal trainers who wish to offer strength and conditioning coaching sessions to their existing clients or expand their client base.
Is this course compulsory/a prerequisite for another course?
No but it will help prepare early years S&C coaches who wish to become UKSCA Accredited S&C coaches (ASCC/ UKSCA full accreditation) in the future.
Entry Requirements:
Learners must be a minimum of 16 years old at registration and be able to undertake the qualification in English.
Awarding Body Certificate:
Transcend Awards/UK Strength and Conditioning Association.
Cost:
£1200.00 (discounted rate available for students. ID required)
£400 deposit required to reserve space with the remainder due at least 1 week before 1st course date.
What does this course provide?:
Following a period of practice as a qualified coach, learners may choose to develop their skills by completing the UKSCA accredited S&C coach pathway (ASCC/full accreditation).
This qualification may lead to paid or voluntary roles as a strength and conditioning coach or you may wish to explore other industry-relevant roles such as a gym instructor or personal trainer.
The qualification is also suitable for students who have recently graduated from university with an undergraduate degree and wish to work towards their professional accreditation with the UKSCA (ASCC).
The qualification is also suitable for PE teachers wishing to deliver S&C as part of the school PE curriculum.

Delivered in hybrid style with 2 face-to-face days at Barclays Hampden and pre-recorded online learning and in-person Zoom calls.
