Section 4: Medical Conditions in Sport Seizures and Epilepsy TREATMENT OF SEIZURES Key is to protect head from injury Keep calm Do not restrain-cushion head to prevent injury Move any objects that may cause harm Time the seizure to see how long it lasts Open airway (in water roll to face up) Loosen clothing around the neck/remove glasses If asleep afterwards, protect and allow continued sleep Place in Recovery Position when jerking stops Monitor ABC and AVPU Do Not: Forcibly restrain Put anything in mouth Move unless in unsafe position Try to wake casualty Give anything to eat or drink until fully awake
