Assessing a Spinal Injury

Only attempt to move the casualty if airway is compromised e.g. vomiting

Use Spinal log roll/Superman Roll:

• Used when the casualty has a suspected spinal injury and is not breathing
• This needs to be done quickly
• A first aider may be required to assist paramedics in executing a log roll
