Section 1: The First Aider in Action - Confidentiality and Consent

Child Protection

To carry out first aid on a child, you require:

  • Parental permission (suggested at the start of each season/term)
  • Written consent to administer any medication
  • Up to date PVG check 
  • Code of Child Protection for your sport

Necessary Information

This information should be recorded for each player and be readily available:

  • Next of kin contact details
  • Details of medical conditions e.g. asthma/diabetes or allergies e.g. nuts/bee stings
  • Details of any medication e.g. an epipen/inhalers
  • Where to find medication needs to be readily available
