A 4-site body fats (we all have some!), a resting ECG, an exercise ECG and a V02max test are all part of our Baseline package. All of which are vital in helping you to train safely, understand your body and fulfil your potential. All heart results are independently reassessed by an external cardiologist, with a full written report provided.

Following on from your Baseline results; if health is your priority you can add a full medical consult with Dr John MacLean, one of the country’s leading sports medicine specialists.
A full range of tests will include heart and stroke risk assessment, diabetes, spirometry, eyes, throat, ears and abdomen that will leave you secure in the knowledge it provides. A written report with all of your results is provided as part of the service.
The Health package add-on fee is £50
If improved performance is your priority then a full MSK (musculoskeletal) assessment with an elite-level physio will identify how to improve your strengths and strengthen your weaknesses in your sporting performance. Balance, flexibility, form and content will be highlighted to you and illustrated with a full written report.

As a triathlete I am constantly putting my body under a lot of different stresses during intensive training periods. I attend the clinic at Hampden regularly for sports massage that keeps me in good flexible order. However, recently I picked up a foot injury during a cycle. My Physio Allan asked if I minded him calling upon Dr MacLean and the Podiatrist Mandy to give their opinion? I found this very reassuring. Having such a range of expertise and experience in the one place is a big plus for me. I was happy to offer this endorsement and now training is full steam ahead!
I was tired of being tired. Cliched west of Scotland middle aged male. Too much food and drink, nae exercise! Can’t remember the actual scare story that got me going, but it was a bit scary. I didn’t fancy keeling over lacing up my trainers, so before I put them on I was keen to know I was safe! I saw Dr MacLean who went through a number of tests and my medical history. I was knackered after that treadmill, but good to go as long as I took it slowly. Another cliché - it has changed my life. After completing a 5K programme I now have my eyes fixed on running a 10K and have lost a ton of weight into the bargain! Thanks.
I was referred to the clinic by my surgeon as part of my rehabilitation program following knee surgery. The standard of treatment and facilities almost matched the welcome at reception! My recovery has been made faster by being able to use both the hydropool and the gym. I also find it reassuring that whilst I’m in there my physio Alan is usually on hand to check in with. As a keen runner I have received many a massage over the years. Since attending Hampden Sports Clinic I have been unbelievably impressed with Karen's meticulous approach to understanding the root cause of my inflexibility, particularly in my hips. Karen focused on releasing tightness in my back and hamstrings and even measured the exact degree of movement before and after working on each area, a level of detail I had never come across before. I feel I now get so much more out of my sessions due to this structured approach and Karen now knows the key areas to focus on to help my muscle flexibility. I now look forward to lots of injury-free running!
